Rules for Using El Caminito del Rey
If you're planning to visit the Caminito del Rey, it's very important that you familiarize yourself with the mandatory rules, which you must follow, so you can enjoy your visit and avoid any setbacks.
Rules

- Online tickets for the trail must be purchased through any official El Caminito del Rey ticketing platform, such as La Garganta, which we partner with for our guided tours. On our tours, you’ll simply need to show your order confirmation to our guide, who will then handle your admission.
- To take the standard tour, you must have a physical ticket—that is, a paper ticket—or a digital ticket if you made an online reservation. Access to the trailhead is always via the North Entrance to begin the descent.
- Any child over the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult and must provide proof of family relationship via a national ID card, passport, or family register. Children under 8 years of age will not be permitted on the trail for safety reasons, while adults must present their ID at the start of the trail.
- Any visitor with a ticket will be covered by civil liability insurance provided by the El Caminito del Rey organization itself. This insurance will cover any circumstances or risks provided that the visitor complies with these rules.
- Visitors must arrive at the entrance at least half an hour before the tour begins.
- Access to the trail will be via the organization’s own, clearly marked directions, excluding any other access points to the trail; the organization is not liable for any issues arising from such access or incidents.
- El Caminito will be open from Tuesday through Sunday, although it may be closed on other days due to inclement weather, including holidays such as December 24 and 25, as well as December 31 and January 1.
- Safety equipment must be worn properly at all times, from the start of the trail to the end of the route.
- If you wish to pass other visitors, please do so with caution to ensure your own safety and that of other visitors.
