La Garganta was born out of the restoration of an old flour mill right in the heart of El Chorro. Since then, every decision has been guided by the same philosophy: to use resources responsibly, to respect the landscape, and to give back to the environment a part of all that it offers us. <\/p>\n

  • Selective waste sorting<\/li>\n
  • Priority given to local and nearby suppliers<\/li>\n
  • Reuse of historic materials and heritage restoration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Measuring to improve<\/p>\n

    Sustainability requires commitment, but also knowledge.<\/p>\n

    That is why we have carried out a comprehensive analysis of our carbon footprint to identify the main sources of emissions and design a roadmap capable of delivering real and measurable improvements.<\/p>\n

    122.35 tonnes of CO\u2082 equivalent analysed to develop a data-driven reduction plan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

    Category 1<\/h4>

    Direct GHG emissions and removals [61.22%]. This includes fuel consumption from stationary sources and vehicles owned by the complex, as well as fugitive emissions resulting from the recharging of refrigerants in air-conditioning equipment. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Category 2<\/h4>

    Indirect emissions from imported energy [0%]. This corresponds to the emissions associated with the electricity consumption supplied by the electricity supplier throughout 2025 at the hotel\u2019s premises. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Categor\u00eda 3<\/h4>

    Indirect emissions from transport [0.05%]. This includes staff travel (assessed via a travel survey covering 224 working days) and suppliers\u2019 logistics transport. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Category 4<\/h4>

    Indirect emissions from products used by the organisation [38.73%]. This is one of the most critical items, calculated using physical and monetary factors, and encompasses the carbon footprint of catering services, the purchase of materials and the consumption of drinking water from the municipal supply. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    Category 5 and 6<\/h4>

    Other indirect emissions [0%]. This includes the impact of end-of-life treatment of the waste generated (such as municipal waste, sewage sludge, etc.). <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
